This<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/attachment_data\/file\/518487\/PHE-CRCE-026_-_V1-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> publication <\/a> data for 2010.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_117\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-117\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/katmal.co.uk\/exposure_uk_2010b.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-117 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.katmal.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/exposure_UK_2010b-300x241.png\" alt=\"Table\" width=\"300\" height=\"241\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-117\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">UK Exposures 2010 from PHE-CRCE-026<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It shows that the largest contributor to the average UK dose is 1.3mSv\/yr from Radon and Thorium which it describes as &#8220;ubiquitous&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Patient exposure averages 0.44mSv\/yr and occupational 0.0004mSv\/yr.<\/p>\n<p>The report concludes that the average doses assessed in this period are pretty much the same as was found in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>Some advice on when to check your basements for radon is found in a later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/attachment_data\/file\/539079\/PHE-CRCE-028.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CRCE report<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHE-CRCE have published the latest of their really useful reviews of radiation dose in the UK.
