An analysis for the European Commission suggests that, each year in the UK, this would prevent the following impacts related to local and regional air pollutant exposure:<br \/>\n&gt;\u00a0 5,700 deaths<br \/>\n&gt; 1,600 hospital admissions for lung and heart problems<br \/>\n2,400 new cases of bronchitis.<br \/>\nReducing air pollution would also allow vulnerable people\u00a0 to be more active, take less medication, and live longer.<br \/>\nThe economic value of these benefits would add up to\u00a0 \u20ac3.9 billion per year.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Food for thought.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is an interesting publication about air quality available\u00a0here\u00a0from the Royal College of\u00a0Physicians.
